Dear My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As I am writing this letter, my old friend tightens her grip and asked what if this is too raw to be read?
What if this will sound too… hackneyed?
But I told her that I am keen that this is not about me, this is a story about us - His church.
I am glad that this time, anxiety nods and find herself a way out from the mind that’s never been hers but mine.
I am writing this to you because these words are too underrated to be left unsaid.
That somehow I would hinder a blessing, if I keep it to myself, without you knowing your existence in every single words of this letter.
I can feel my heart bloom,
and full as I am thinking of two things;
How this letter will - at least - make you smile for it reminds you of our life-changing moments together
or - at most - as you read this through, you will finally find yourself again.
Thank you…
For every second Thursday and every single Friday night of fellowship,
to vent,
to share,
to laugh,
to love,
to pray,
to freeze the time,
in the presence of the One who loves us first, Jesus Christ.
For every Sunday morning
of serving, adoring, giving, and receiving
For being a place of rest
where I can assuredly say “I’m home”
For the happiness you’ve taught me to feel
during the joyful moments of others’
For teaching me that fear is not an illusion to be ignored
but a lie to be casted out by a prayer
For showing the imperfect side of yours
to reveal that living in the solitude has never been part of His plan
For the boldness to share the struggle and the pain
to tell us we are not alone and we are always in this together
For faithfully taking up the cross
to show that to love means to always rejoice in the Truth
For breaking your own heart when choosing His way
because deep down you know that what we do will affect one another as we are part of One body
For being my sister in Christ who inspires, loves and lifts me up
sometimes with a word of wisdom
sometimes with nothing more than being present
offering the safest place where I do not need to wonder
whether I am more or less
For being my brother in Christ
A man -
who chooses to pursue the Truth
in a world that offers other million reasons not to
who helps my heart to feel safe, and to trust again
because whom God has appointed you to be - the head to the body as Christ to His Church
For every single reason
I could not be more grateful of
For…
-believe and let’s agree on this-
who you are
Once again, thank you.
Sincerely,
Me - someone whose life you have touched.
